On Friday, Oct. 1, 1926, there was an interesting article in the Springfield Republican. The "Memories" are from 1901! This date marked the 25th anniversary of Dr. Henry Lincoln Bailey and his wife Nelle coming to Longmeadow. In 1901 they had arrived in town, because Dr. Bailey was the new Minister of First Church. He held this position until 1917. They enjoyed this community and later lived at 169 Crescent Road.
Looking back and also reading the names and occupations of the residents that are listed in the 1901 Longmeadow Street Directory is also interesting. Click here to view it.
